چکیده
Recently, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) has become a research focus for its capability of controlling the radio propagation environments. Compared to conventional terrestrial IRS, aerial IRS (AIRS) exploiting unmanned vehicle (UAV)/high-altitude platform (HAP) can provide better deployment flexibility. To this end, three-dimensional (3D) one-cylinder model is first developed AIRS-assisted multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) narrowband channels. In order change wireless channel with AIRS and create favorable environment, we propose novel method designing phase-shifts elements. Based on model, impulse response (CIR), space-time correlation function, capacity are derived thoroughly investigated. A key observation in paper that multipath Doppler effects environments be effectively mitigated via adjusting IRS. More specifically, special absence any scatterers, it found fading completely eliminated by IRSs. While general multiple small number elements also significantly reduce spread deep fades numerical investigation correlations, shown non-stationarity not introduced into time domain when phase shift linear related time. Moreover, improved proposed methods. Finally, non-ideal IRSs considered using results poor performances compared ideal These conclusions will fundamental support developing controllable future sixth-generation (6G) networks.

Performance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward
In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...
متن کاملLow SNR Capacity of Fading Channels – MIMO and multipath
Discrete-time noncoherent Rayleigh fading multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels are considered, with no channel state information at either the transmitter or the receiver. The fading is assumed to be correlated in time and independent from antenna to antenna. Peak and average transmit power constraints are imposed, either on the sum over antennas, or on each individual antenna. In bot...
متن کاملSimulation of SISO and MIMO Multipath Fading Channels
Accurate software simulation is an important step for testing mobile communication systems. It allows the evaluation of the system performance without the need for physical experiments. At an early testing stage, simulations are usually done considering transmissions over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels, which do not account for obstacles or motion between the transmitter (Tx) and...
متن کاملMIMO capacity and multipath scaling in ultra-wideband channels
Generalising previous results for narrowband multiple-antenna channels, a quadratic growth in multipath with the array size is reported for ultra-wideband indoor channels, based on experimental analysis. It is shown that the observed increase in multipath is sufficient to guarantee multiple-antenna capacity growth linearly with the array size, facilitating multi-gigabit future wireless systems.
متن کاملSparse Multipath Wireless Channels: Modeling and Implications
Most existing works in wireless communications assume a rich multipath environment. In particular, the intense research on multi-antenna (MIMO) systems in the last decade was pioneered by results based on an i.i.d. channel model representing a rich multipath environment. However, there is growing experimental evidence that physical wireless channels exhibit a sparse multipath structure, even at...
